Mesothelioma disease

Mesothelioma is a type of tumor, affecting the mesothelial cells or initial sub-mesothelial cells. The diagnostic rate of mesothelioma is increasing over recent years. The symptoms of mesothelioma are not specific and it is common to all other normal diseases. The usage of tobacco product is not identified as a cause for mesothelioma. These tumor cells are capable to develop as malignant. Malignant tumor cells are highly active and they continuously spread from one location to another within the body. Mostly the disease occurs predominantly on pleural cells, peritoneum cells and rarely occurs on pericardium layer. It has been determined that the major cause for mesothelioma is exposure to asbestos. United States and Western Europe are most prone to this type of tumor. Occupational exposure to asbestos is also a significant cause for mesothelioma. About 95% of industrialized countries are prone to mesothelioma, due to the environmental pollution, hazards. Mostly aged people are prostrate to mesothelioma. The disease has a high latency period of 15-20 years. This very high latency period is the major cause for decreased survival rate of the disease.

Ill Effects of Smoking

Smoking is identified as one of the major cause for inducing lung cancer. It also serves to be the reason for stomach cancer, the smoke inhaled during smoking is dangerous to the body cells. It stimulates a noticeable change in morphological and physiological pattern of body cell composition. It has been estimated that in the year 2003 more than 12,100 patients died due to stomach cancer. The chance of cervical cancer increases in women due to smoking, it thereby affects the growth of fetus growth. Kidneys are also affected greatly by smoking; it causes proliferation of kidney cells and irreversible damage to the structure and blood vessels of kidney. It has been reported that 31,900 patients were diagnosed with kidney cancer. The smoke is also dangerous to liver and pancreas, pancreatic cancer is generally reported due to smoking. The carcinogenic compound in tobacco product affects pancreatic secretions thus affecting the normal functioning of human body. Leukemia is also reported due to smoking cigarettes. Leukemia is the destruction of white blood cells and thereby the body’s immune system is affected.

Impact of Tobacco products

The compound present inside the cigarette, which makes the people to adopt smoking repeatedly is nicotine. Nicotine is the stimulant drug, which induces the people. Although the amount of smoke inhaled during usage of tobacco product is small, this meager amount is capable of causing major physical and physiological disorders. The quantity of nicotine drug within each tobacco product is different and it depends mainly on the tobacco’s type and filters preferred. Normally, the toxic products of smoke are passed into the bloodstream. It has been estimated that these excitant drug takes less than ten minutes to each brain of the human. They mainly cause depression of normal brain’s activity and leads to uncontrollable usage of tobacco products. This effect of smoke wares more likely affects teen age peoples four times more when compared to other age groups. Nicotine either directly or indirectly induce the normal functioning of human heart, thereby it serves to be the reason for increased heart rate and blood pressure. Thereby the smokers are more likely admitted to occurrence of myocardial infarction (heart attack).

Mechanism of smoking

To understand the mechanism about, how the smoking leads to cancer, initially the composition of smoke is keyed out. Smoke basically contains several carcinogenic pyrolytic products, particularly virile carcinogens they are polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) and acrolein. These compounds are capable of inducing cancer within the body cells. They bind to DNA and cause genetic mutations, which are later trabeculate to mutagenic equalities. It has been distinguished that polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons contains benzopyrene, which is the major carcinogen compound in tobacco products. This benzopyrene, carcinogen products are used to toxicate into epoxide thus holding the nuclear DNA. Acrolein is abundant in tobacco products which attaches strongly to body cells. By attaching themselves to DNA they can either kill the cell or cause a genetic irregularity. However it has been identified that these components do not require any kind of activation, they are capable of proliferating by themselves within the body cavity. The mutation is the cause for avoiding PCD (Programmed Cell Death), therefore the cell can survive even after its life span and turn out to be a cancer cell.

Cognition about lung cancer

Smoking is been identified as one of the major reason for lung cancer. Generally the smoke consists of carcinogenic pyrolytic products. These products have the capacity to bind with the body’s DNA. After they get attached to the DNA they cause genetic mutation, which results in disordered arrangement of cell morphology. Cigarette contains nineteen such carcinogen compounds, which are capable of causing cell mutation within the body. In females, usage of tobacco products is identified to be the main cause for miscarriages, and it is keyed out to contribute number of threats to the fetus within the mother’s womb. It is also identified to be one of the reasons for premature births of the child, low birth weight normally the rooted cause for other major disorders and increases the chance for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome by 1.3-1.4 times. When a person smoke on daily basis he is termed as ‘smoker’ while he/she smokes but not in daily basis then they are termed as ‘occasional smokers’. It has been depicted that occasional smokers have the chances of getting smoke related cancers up to 1.25 times when compared to non-smokers.
